Adding onto your house? Considering it? We
"completed" the process a few years ago and are looking to share our experience. In preparing for this task we found little information on the web that was geared towards to average home owner. How do you get started? What permits are involved? How do you get a variance from the town? What wetlands? Can I be a sub-contractor?
Is the project over?
Not by a long shot. We added the backyard patio in the fall of 2002 and as I
write this (January 2004) we are finishing the room over the garage. Beyond
that? That back deck that is no longer getting any use since the addition of the
kitchen patio is ripe picking to be turned into a screened in porch / three
season room.
